Compared to how many calories they have.

For example, 100 calories of white bread is one of the least filling foods…

While surprisingly, 100 calories of boiled potatoes is very filling. 41

Scientists began calling this effect a food’s “satiety index”…

Which basically means, “for the same amount of calories, how filling is this food compared to other foods?” 24

Boiled potatoes have a high satiety index (they’re very filling)…
